How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Celebrated Their Wedding Anniversary!!It’s been a year of drastic change for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In the span of three months, they announced their shocking decision to step down from the royal family, moved from the United Kingdom to Canada, then from Canada to California. They launched a new nonprofit, Archewell, and began legal proceedings against the parent company of the Mail on Sunday. They continue to parent a one-year-old, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. Oh, and there’s also a global pandemic going on.
So when it came to celebrating their second wedding anniversary, it’s no surprise that they had a low-key affair.
“Today, the family is spending a quiet day together,” a family friend told People. Similar sentiments were echoed in Page Six, which reported the couple took the day off of work to spend time with their son and dogs. Said a source: “They’re laying low, taking the day to relax and be together with no distractions. No work. No calls. Just family time and keeping it simple.”
It’s been reported that the family is staying in a Beverly Hills home owned by Tyler Perry. The palatial 25,000-square-foot pad is located in a gated community and comes with a state-of-the-art security system. (Plus, if the aerial photos are up to date, it has quite the envy-inducing pool.)
The duke and duchess will likely seek a more permanent space when the COVID-19 lockdown eases. But for now, they’re making their own memories in this temporary home. For Archie’s first birthday, it’s said Markle made a strawberry and cream cake, while Prince Harry blew up balloons. Rumor has it they’ve found a friendly neighbor in a fellow Brit, Adele, who lives nearby. “Adele’s just five minutes from Harry and Meghan, and they’ve swapped notes on the area,” a source told the Daily Mirror. “She’s also recommended her four-year-old son Angelo’s preschool and discreet places to take Archie where they won’t be bombarded by fans.”
The couple, who recently quit social media, were recently spotted walking their two dogs while wearing face masks. Otherwise, sightings of the couple have been few and far between. Perhaps that will change with fewer coronavirus restrictions, or perhaps it’s the couple finally living the private life they’ve always wanted.
